International Logistics System
International Logistics Systera is composed of the functions or sub - systems of packaging, storage (inventory and warehousing) , transportation, inspections or quarantine, distribution and stowage ,in which, transportation and storage are the key supports. Through the transportation and storage all over the world, the utilization of time and space efforts can be realized to satisfy the international trade and operations in transnational companies. Much focus in this textbook is taken in international transportation in various modes in international trade.
From the perspective of international trade logistics, the basic network and parties (see below two charts) involve in spaces transmission in at least two countries or territories of customs. The transportation is the key bridge for export and import. And the parties along the process of international logistics include consignor and consignee, forwarders in both sides of trading partners, customs in both countries or territories of customs and operators in both terminals to handle the loading and unloading of consignments.
