Types of International Air Transport：Consolidation【悟空海运】
Consolidation is one kind of transport taken by consolidators through collecting several individual consignments with the same destination as one shipment under one airway bill and forwarding to the a-gencies at the destination to process delivery of goods and customs procedures as well as distributing each individual consignments to consignees as indicated in the airway bill.
The procedures of the consolidation is as below.
(1) Issuing HAWB( House Airway Bill) for individual consignments.
(2) Issuing MAWB( Master Airway Bill) according to classification of consignment with the same city and same country as the destination.
(3 ) Preparing manifest indicating the numbers of HAWB with separate pieces and weights.
(4) Consigning all shipments with MAWB and manifest as one whole consignment to the airlines.
(5) After arrival of goods at the port of the destination, the local forwarders, the consignee indicated in the MAWB are responsible for taking delivery, dismantling of goods and taking import customs declaration as well as distributing of cargoes for the actual consignees.
(6) After signing for the accepting of cargoes by the consignees, forwarders at the destination can feedback such information to the forwarders at the departure.
