Types of International Air Transport：Chartered Carrier【悟空海运】
Chartered carrier refers to renting civilian aircrafts for carrying passengers or cargoes, or both via fixed or unfixed routes in passenger - cargo combination carriers. According to the Chartered carrier methods, the chartered carrier can be divided into the whole charter and the part charter.
1. The whole charter
The whole charter refers to renting the whole aircraft as agreed terms and conditions between the airlines and the renter for conveying of cargoes from one or more departing terminals.The renter of the whole chartered carrier are required to contact such airlines one month before loading the cargoes to airplanes so that airlines have the enough time to arrange the loading, apply to the airports of taking off and landing and to the government, and undertake some procedures for transiting or importing boundaries of other countries.
Charges for the whole chartered carrier are open rates, reflecting the markets * demand and supply in due time. In usual cases, the charge are to be charged as per fixed rates one kilometers and collected 80% of such fixed rates as the compensation for unloading of cargoes as compensation.
2. Part Charter
Part Charter is undertaken by either ways: two or more air freight companies or consignors rent jointly one airplane； the airlines forwards the space to several air freight enterprises for loading cargoes. Such operation is suitable for consignment with small lots and with heavy weights.
Compaied with scheduled airlines, part charter may cost more time to transport cargoes, because the departure time may not be the prescribed one, although part of charter has been set with fixed schedule. Also, in order to protect the national airlines, governments prefer to constraining foreign airlines of chartered services in terms of operation scopes and locations for landing. Supposed that if such airplane would land in places out of the agreed one, the person in charge should apply to the government and get permission before landing.
